Energy-efficiency

The primary purpose of insulation, is for temperature regulation. A more energy-efficient home is a well-insulated home that uses less energy to heat or cool the home. A newly noticeable issue with a well-insulated home is trapping in toxic particles in the air and creating elevated levels than normally found in a 'drafty' home.

Denim (Blue Jean) Insulation

leaf As far as I can tell, this is the best product on the market. It has a high R value, which means that it is energy efficient. It does not contain the toxins like formaldehyde commonly associated with many other mainstream insulations. And finally, it is a recylced product, making it sustainable.

Toxins in Insulation

While fiberglass insulation often gets a bad name by green advocates, there are fiberglass products that do not off-gas formaldehyde or break off small particulate matter than can be detrimental when inhaled.
